National Account Manager - Off-Premise Wine and Spirits Sales

Remote USA, TX

The National Account Manager is responsible for increasing sales of our brands in national off-premise accounts and building and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts in these accounts. The position will support sales/ Regional Managers to achieve sales goals and profitability objectives by effectively managing new and existing accounts.

Responsibilities:

  • Increase and expand awareness of our brands in national accounts and the volume and quantity of our brands ordered and sold.
  • Establish productive working relationships with all levels of the distributor’s sales and marketing teams and maintain regular contact with the Zamora Company USA teams to review program compliance and identify market level opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify and attract prospective accounts and set approach strategies.
  • Coordinate with the distributor and national account employees to ensure that objectives are reached, and the company increases profitability of our brands in national accounts.
  • Identify new distribution opportunities and coordinate brand education sessions.
  • Address any issues related to our brands in assigned accounts and resolve them in a timely manner.
  • Construct marketing/financial based presentations to support planned initiatives.  Goals should include use of appropriate data sources such as Nielsen, IRI, or others.
  • Collect and analyze sales data and trends.
  • Stay in compliance with the legal guidelines and regulations at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness within the assigned channel of all market factors and competitive brands, including but not limited to competitive programs, account developments and plans, and market opportunities.
  • Implement plans to close opportunity gaps.
  • Establish a regular review process with distributor national accounts team management and account executives. Communicate overall quarterly/annual progress to senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Participate, as appropriate, in quarterly business reviews with key distributors to review regional program status and execution against goals.
  • Record and monitor account compliance, as well as analysis related to key metrics.
  • Understand account requirements and offer suitable solutions.
  • Support regional goals.
  • Develop a working knowledge of operational areas of each assigned channel in order to:
  • Understand the industry and customer needs in order to guide strategy and identify brand opportunities; 
  • Recommend and develop relevant program platforms to meet or exceed sales goals; and
  • Provide the company with insight and trends.
  • Plan budgets and activities for account management.
  • Utilize social media to enhance brand awareness and sales.
  • Ensure the utilization of appropriate tracking and control systems to measure brand performance and compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in sales or marketing and at least five years of related wine & spirits experience or a commensurate combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience as a National Account Manager 
  • Experience managing multi-state national accounts.
  • Experience in the alcohol industry required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable about sales analysis and sales techniques to increase brand sales.
  • Must be organized, able to analyze sales performance metrics, and possess excellent planning and leadership abilities to coordinate and advise account contacts.
  • Innovative thinking and passionate about our brands.
  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills, and the ability to build successful long-term account relationships.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated individual.
  • Independent worker that also is a team player with great interpersonal skills.
  • Computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet).
  • Must possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to travel as much as 60% of the time, and work evenings/weekends as job requires.
